Victim Justice Reform
Our Story: Welcome
Greetings and Blessings To All,
No matter how much I would like to think, not everyone the world over knows me, my Mother, or my family. I’m going to change that right now. I believe this is the place to talk about me, my family and our story. It’s the true story of Mom and our never-ending journey with the criminal justice system.
To some of you, I am a victim voice from the past. Good to see you all again. It’s been awhile! To the rest, hello! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Robbie Fullerton. My family and I were thrown into the criminal system (the word “justice” deliberately omitted) in 1980 when my dear mother was raped and murdered while she worked at the Helena State Training School for Boys. I was working at the Alfalfa County Sheriffs Office at the time. Two years after Mom was murdered, I was hired as a Probation and Parole Officer for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, first in Woodward and then in Enid. Later in my career, I was given the opportunity to create and administer the first ever Victim Services unit for the DOC. This allowed me to fulfill my destiny to serve all crime victims and honor my Mom. I will be forever grateful.
Ten years ago I retired from public service, and believed my association with all that was over. Little did I know that one cannot outrun their destiny, and that fate will find a way to pull you back in. That is exactly what happened to me, and again, I am forever grateful.
It started a couple of years ago when I had the honor of representing the Oklahoma Supreme Court by their appointing me to the Pardon and Parole Board. I did my best to do a good job and I believe I made a positive impact. From that appointment was all it took to get me back to advocating for victims and survivors of crime. Victim Justice Reform was born, thanks to lots of help from family and friends. Please join us as we remember all crime victims, and Honor Maxine Fussell Miller Fullerton.
Hopefully, this site will develop into a strong resource for victims of all crimes. Input, suggestion, comments and concerns are encouraged.
I am blessed to be a part of a wonderful, caring, close and supportive family. Mom had nine brothers and sisters, and I can’t even count all the progeny! Add to that, she birthed five children and from those we now stand at ten, eleven, twenty………….a heck of a lot of grandkids, great grandkids and even a couple of great, greats.. I think!
So here ya go!
This is us and our story will never end now that we have been thrown into a broken system. I hope you visit often and spread the word. As you can see from my blogs, I’m tired of the criminal getting top billing in time, energy, attention, budget, resources, everything! It’s time we tip the scales of justice toward the victim where it belongs, and ensure that we, as a society, focus on Victim Justice.
